Who is God? This isn't just a question for an unsaved person. This is a question that us as Christians should ask ourselves.
So let's answer this question:
God is all-knowing (omniscience)
God is all-powerful (omnipotent)
God is everywhere at once (omnipresent)
God is merciful
God is full of grace
God is caring and loving
God is just
God is forgiving
God is perfect
God is in-control
God is holy
God is righteous
God is faithful
God is jealous (but not in the sinful way we think of)
God is eternal
God is good
God is awe-some
There are SO many attributes of God! When we look at this long list, it shows us just how amazing God is! When we realize how amazing God is, we realize how awful we are. When we realize how amazing God is we cannot remain unaffected. We are sinners. We are wicked people but God is all these wonderful attributes. We are wicked but God is merciful. Grace is getting something we don't deserve and mercy is not getting something we do deserve. God gives us both mercy and grace! He not only forgives us but He loves us.
Next, let's answer another question, do we act like God is all these things? Do we act like God is in-control? Think about it, when you're sinning in whatever way whether it be lying or cheating or something else, are you acting like God is all-knowing? We tend to put God in a box and stick Him on the shelf, only taking Him out on Sundays and when we need Him. We shouldn't limit God and what He can do in our lives. When we give God our life completely, He can do amazing things!
Both of these points are important! We first have to realize that we are nothing without God's awesome power and also have to be willing to give our life to Him.
Look at Philippians 4:13, it says,
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
This verse isn't about us, it's about God. Only through God can we do the work He has given us.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
