Summer Saturday: What God has been teaching me...

Updated: Nov 27, 2019

These last few months have been crazy but God has taught me a lot. One of the things He has taught me is something I'd like to share with you guys. Prayer.

Prayer for me, having grown up in a Christian home, is something that we did. We do it before meals, we do it after reading the Bible, and we do it before bed. You get into a routine. It becomes a habit. Something we should do- like brushing our teeth before bed or combing our hair in the morning.

Should prayer be like this?

Prayer SHOULD be a routine but not a mindless one. We should pray before meals but not to the point where we are just saying words and going through a motion. Prayer should be from the heart.

Prayer shouldn't be something that we do just because we've always done it or because everyone else is doing it. It should be because we desire it.

Matthew 6:7

"And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words."

Romans 12:12

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer."
